Tai Yang Industry and the Industrial Technology Research Institute (ITRI) have joined hands to achieve an innovative breakthrough in the production of light calcium carbonate using patented technology. For every 100 grams of calcium carbonate produced, 44 grams of carbon dioxide are absorbed. In addition, calcium carbonate, as an inorganic mineral, has extremely high stability in the natural environment. Therefore, oyster shells generated from oyster farming have the added value of natural, stable, and long-term carbon dioxide sequestration.
